^Lot 3380 HARPERS FERRY M1816 US FLINTLOCK MUSKET.

Cal. 69. Harpers Ferry. alongside Springfield Armory was a primary contractor of the US M1816. The armory produced over 350,000 from 1816-44. It is fit with a 42" round bbl with a partially obscure tang date & V/P/Eagle proofs. It is held in place with 3 iron bbl bands retained with bbl band springs. The forward band has an integral brass blade front sight. The mid band has a sling swivel. The lock is marked HARPERS/FERRY/1837 at the rear and Eagle/US in the center. Brass pan. Iron furniture. Trigger guard has an integral rear sling swivel. US marked buttplate. The stock has faint cartouches and inspection markings present. CONDITION: Overall fair-good. The metal has a dark patina with areas of old oxidation. Stock has been sanded lightly with hand wear and some wood loss around the bbl tang area and scattered handling marks.
